Seed, Mulch and Mud Control for Upstate Clay

Hydroseeding Greenville sprays new lawns, stabilizes bare slopes and keeps construction mud on the lot across Greenville and the surrounding Upstate. We also set silt fence and inlet protection, fine grade and spread topsoil, and renovate tired lawns with aeration and overseeding.

The ground here sets the terms. Much of the Piedmont is Cecil-type soil: a few inches of brown sandy loam over a deep layer of red, sticky clay. Once a lot is graded, that clay is usually what is left on top, and it packs hard and sheds water. Add close to 50 inches of rain a year, with July and August the wettest months, and you have bare ground that will move the first time a summer storm rolls off Paris Mountain. Every job we do starts with that in mind.

Our approach on a Greenville lot

  • Before any number goes on paper, someone from our crew walks the site and notes slope, drainage, sun and the spot where water exits the property
  • You get a written estimate that separates prep, topsoil, seeding and any erosion or sediment control
  • Seed mixes are picked for the season: warm-season grasses in late spring, tall fescue in early fall
  • Clay is loosened before we spray, because seed laid on packed ground rarely roots
  • On slopes and near creeks we raise the mulch rate, or switch to blankets or a bonded fiber matrix
  • We leave you a plain watering schedule and tell you when to make the first mow

Who calls us

Homeowners with a bare yard after a new build, a septic replacement or a drainage project. Builders who need back and side yards covered before closing. Site contractors and property managers who need pond banks, road shoulders and pad slopes stabilized. People with a thin fescue lawn under big oaks that needs a fresh start.

What we do not do

We will not spray seed on ground that is frozen, flooded or packed so hard that it cannot root, and we will tell you if the calendar is wrong for the grass you want. A few weeks of patience usually saves a second seeding.

Ring (864) 520-5685 or fill in the request form. We will set a time to look at the ground in person.
